Can anyone help me with a material database for silicone rubber, that i can use for a non linier study.
Can you be a little more specific on the application or type? There are thousands of silicones that range from hard as a rock to jelly, water clear to jet black, etc.
Harold, I would settle for 40 to 70 shore A Silicone.
But i dont think that colour will affect the simulation
Will this do? http://ncnc.engineering.ucdavis.edu/pages/equipment/Sylgard_184_data_sheet.pdf
Harold, This only gives me very basic information i need:-
First material constant, Second material constant,
Or curves for Simple Tension, Planar Tension or Pure Shear and Biaxial Tension.
Sorry Clive. As I dig through my data base I am finding most is covered under NDA even though it is not relevant to the relationship. I would suggest contacting Dow Corning in Midland directly for the data you are looking for. It would be the most reliable in the long run.
Thanks Harold, We do but several tons of silicone from Dow Corning and other suppliers. I have in the past contacted some of the European manufactures without success.
I will Try Dow C for an answer.
Check out http://matweb.com
I have tried Matweb though i am not signed up as a member.
The information i found for silicone didnt have enough information to run a non linier study with.
You may also want to just get a material characterization done yourself. Axel testing has done some for me.
