I am trying to standardise the different parts, and i am looking to fit the part (length only all the other stuff in the part are pretty much standard) in between 2 faces in assembly probably when inserting the part in assembly. is it possible?

It sounds to me that you are wanting to automate the part length based on the assy you put it into. Is that correct? If so, the best way is to create that part in the context of the assy such that the length is then controlling the length of the part.

yes what you said is correct to some extent, what i actually want to do is to create a part and use it in any new assembly i make where i just need to select 2 faces for the length to be adjusted rather than entering values each time.
i will attach the example model laer in the day
Rohit,
You are trying to define the length of your part with in-context features. There are a number of ways that you could do this. You could make your original part much longer than needed and then use a face in the assembly to cut it to length. You could use the Move Face feature to move the end face so that it matches up with a face in the assembly. You could define the length of your part by extruding up to a point and leave that point at an undefined distance in your model, then set the point coincident with the face in your assembly. There are probably a number of better ways that will work best in your assemblies.
Read up on in-context features and top-down modeling in the Help.

Good afternoon Rohit,
