Problems with latest approved graphics driver

I am using Solidworks 2011/SP5.0, and have Win 7 x64 with a Quadro FX 4600.  I downloaded and installed the latest approved driver from the Solidworks website, version 197.90.  The problem is that the system randomly gives me errors after the screen goes blank and comes back up stating that the graphics card driver recovered from an error.  I searched online and found some related issues, but they were supposedly due to the GPU chipset getting too hot, and mine runs at normal idle temperatures of around 60 degrees C.  The errors happen even when the system is idle and I'm not doing anything in Windows.

I noticed Nvidia has released newer drivers, version 276.42.  Will this driver cause problems with Solidworks?  Any other suggestions for resolving this issue?
