Before upgrading to 2012 we were able to right click a file and run our task of create dxf or pdf with a right click...now the option is still there but when i click it nothing happens!
Any ideas would be appreciated.
Keep in mind that when upgrading EPDM to a new version, the existing add-ins are not updated automatically. Make sure that the SolidWorks task add-in has been updated to the matching 2012 version. Refer to Knowledge Base solutions S-046488 and S-057908.
If you still have problem with the tasks I suggest you get help from your VAR to troubleshoot.

Did you check the Execution Method? It might have been turned off and would cause this kind of behavior.
Thanks for the suggestion. Those settings are fine, we can actually still execute tasks from the workflow, but if there is a failure or something and we need to re-run it with a right click it doesn't work...
we actually get this now too quite often when the file is created through the workflow...it says there was an error, but yet the files are created. I'm not sure if it is related or not.
This seems to be working, I updated my version per S-046488 and now i seem to be able to launch the task with the right click, but I am not yet sure if I "may need to update the actual task script as well" how will i know?
Also, I contacted my VAR...they are pretty much all R and very very little VA when it comes to EPDM.
KB solution S-057908 shows how to update the actual script (advanced script portion that contains the SW macro that does the actual conversion/printing etc).
Ayou sure you have the number right? I'm not getting any results on that one.
It was just published today to might take a day or so to show up.
This is another similar issue we've been having. We have a dedicated machine run pdf and dxf tasks, but for some reason when it goes idle for just a short time, it won't run the tasks, they just sit in "starting up" mode...see attached.
In order to get them to run, i have to log out of that machine (not just the vault, but log off of windows) and then log back in to windows and then the vault...it then instantly starts executing the tasks. I am desperate to get this figured out also any advice would be greatly appreciated.
I also don't know how to get rid of the two files hung up in "suspending" status either.
Thanks so much.
This is over my head but just so no one is trying to help me, our external IT people figured out that this newly set up designated task processing machine did not have a the "DNS IP Address set strictly to the server" whatever that means. Thanks anyway!
