Hi,
I am having a problem saving a solidworks assembly file after it has been created through circuitworks.
I click save as, enter a file name and then I get a pop-up window that says I must save all components. I agree.
I then get another pop-up window that says that the file is read only and may have an external reference. I find this odd as I am the only one using solidworks in my team but, I am trying to save to a local server. I click ok and it takes me to another pop up window asking me to save the file as something else or cancel. I attempt to save the highlighted file as something else but I receive a pop-up window telling me that the save has failed. Solidworks then returns me to the pop-up about read only file and a loop is created. I then have to close solidworks through the task manager.
Can anyone shed any light on this?
Thanks,
Steven
Steven,
If you have a library of Circuitworks parts, then all you need to save is the board (if it does not exist) and the assembly, this may solve your problem.
Personally, I think that the Circuitworks library should be read only be default.
