I am trying to create a design table for my work. I am self taught on SolidWorks and I got most of it down. On the Design table I have a part that is 27.50" x 57.69" I want to change these to 10" x 35" in the design table how would I do that?
first, have you added a design table to this part?
second, the 2 dims you are working with need to be in the design tabel. if you had more than 1 configuration in the part with diferent values for these dims, and used the auto-generate option for the design table, they would be added automatically. to add them manually, you can either type in the full dim name in the column header, or with the cell highlighted, double click on the dim in the model window.
So the part have to be dim before creating the table?
The attached instructions were created a few year back but should still work.
You may also want to look at using the configuration dialog box. It's much eaiser then a design table but can't be put on a drawing in 2011 as far as I know.
yes the part dims need to exist before they are added to the table.
it is good practice for all of your sketches to be fully defined - so the dims should be there if you have a part you are looking to change.
okay thanks guys i will give this a try!
