Hello, I am new to solidworks. I insatall solidworks 2012 on a pc with windows 7 64-bit graphics card Quadro FX3800. The installation is well spent but when I click on eg new play, solidworks hangs. The name of the error is AppHangB1. I tried to repair with the cd of solidworks but to no avail. I took the driver for my card on the site of solidworks but still no result. Do you have another idea? Thank you.
Ps : Sorry for my English, the text its translate by google.
Nice translation. Hopefully you will understand what I am about to tell you
and the links I am providing. Apprently this appears to be a Windows issue
and also an administrator one as well.
Check out these links.
I translated and tried several things but no solution. This is not a compatibility issue. The program is designed to run on win7 and 64 bits. And configuration is done as an administrator. Nothing on that side. Any other ideas? Gianni
Hello, Here is news of my problem. It was a conflict between Solidworks and my antivirus (Bitdefender internet security 2012). Solidworks works correctly when I uninstall the antivirus. I pointed to the support Bitdefender which I hope, will correct the problem. Thank you all.
I had exactly the same issue in Windows 7 64-bit. I could not open or create new parts, assemblies, drawings, etc. I removed BitDefender Antivirus 2012 and Solidworks is working again.
As much as I am sure this is BitDefender's fault, both companies need to address this issue ASAP.
I got a response from BitDefender. Below are the re-configuration steps as provided by BitDefender. NOTE: Steps 1 and 2 alone seem to cure the problem. It appears that step 4 is only available on BitDefender Internet/Total Security products. Also, after performing steps 1, 2 and 3, I did a BitDefender update and reboot and my entry from step 2 was gone. I had to redo it.
1. Open the Bitdefender program > Settings > Antivirus > Exclusions
2. Add the file to the Active Virus Control exclusions: click on "Excluded
processes" > add the .exe file of the software and make sure it is "Allowed" >
3. Now add the file to the "on access and on-demand" scan exclusions: click on
"Excluded files and folders" > Add the file and make sure it's excluded for
"both" on-access and "on-demand" scanning.
4. Also add a Firewall rule for it > go to the Firewall module > Advanced >
click on "Application rules":
- Browse to the application and click on "Open"
- Select both "Local Address" and "Remote Address" boxes
- At "Network type" select "Trusted"
- Events > select all the boxes (Listen, Traffic, Connect)
- Protocol: Any
- Direction: Both
- IP version: Any
Click on OK and close the Rules window.
Now please restart the computer and recheck the software. I'm fairly confident
the above solution will solve the issue you reported, but should you require
further assistance please don't hesitate to contact us.
