I am trying to make a round spherical expanded metal screen assembly 16" in diameter with around a 24" spherical diameter, .079 diameter metal screen w/1" square holes. A .25 inch round metal ring is attatched to the outer diameter by wraping overlaping metal around the ring itself. I have hit a wall at full speed. Any suggestions would be awesome.

Please attach the parts files too with the assembly. You can use Pack and Go under file menu in open assembly to create a zip of all the related files along with assembly.

Unfortunately for you; SW doesn't handle sheet metal formed in a spherical shape. The only work around I would think might work, if you need to develop the flat pattern, and that is a series of cones. Looking at the cross section it would look choppy.

I'm running 2010 so I could only look at your assembly with e-Drawings. Based on that, and your description I'm wondering if this is sort of what you're looking for?
If so could you elaborate as to how you were wanting the mesh to wrap around the ring. That will likely prove to be the hard part.
If this is not what you are looking for, can you give more info and maybe a picture of something similar.

Erik that is exactly it, each strand of the mesh wire is cut larger than the ring diameter and wound around the ring one and a half to two times each which I am sure would be difficult to represent.
