I have a set of point data that I would like to put in a sketch (to extrude it), and don't know how.

I know how to put it as a 3D sketch with xyz data (where z=0 for all points)  (http://help.solidworks.com/2012/English/solidworks/sldworks/hidd_curve_in_file.htm), but I can't extrude the shape.
