Hi,
I am quite new to SW and I need to know quite urgently how to make a shaped extruded cut. If you don't understand what I mean, I want to make an extuded cut from the bottom of a tangent arc to the top. Obviously I can't do this because the extuded cut usually goes vertically up in a rectangle shape through the bottom of the shape, this cuts the top of the arc off so the shape is no longer a so lid arc. I was wondering if anyone knows how to make an extruded cut in the shape of an arc? I'm sorry if I'm talking nonsense but hopefully someone understands what I mean. A picture may help explain what I need to know:
The arc has a radius of 12.5mm. I want to make an extruded cut of 10mm but in the shape of an arc as opposed to a square cut so I loose none of the shape. Hopefully this clears things up a bit??
I would appreciate any help or feedback.
Thanks,
Harvey Williams
1. Create an offset workplane.
2. Create the sketch/outline for the cut on the offset workplane.
3. Use the WRAP feature to create the cut. Select the curved surface. Set DEBOSS to make a cut. Set the depth of the cut.
