Hi,
is it possible to export 3D-models containing sketches to STEP AP 214 from SWX so that sketches are visisble?

Select the Wireframe option to get the sketches. But with this option sketches will be exported and no geometry.
Hi Deepak,
This seems like a bug to me. Shouldn't we be able to export some 3D geometry along with selected sketch (2D or 3D) geometry at the same time? I was just trying to do that this evening for a customer and couldn't make it work. I'm wondering if it is just me, or if this is the expected behavior.

Hi Deepak . Thanks for the pointer to the STEP file SPR! Given that it was created on 11/5/2008, I'm guessing that it isn't a particularly high-priority.
The IGES method that you pointed out helps a lot, but for times when you don't want to have sketch geometry on top of all of the model edges, be sure to Uncheck the 'Wireframe' option as shown in the image below. The 3D Sketch geometry is still exported, but without the additional geometry. (See edges highlighted in green in the image below.)
For what it's worth, the IGES round-trip produces import warnings (Gaps between faces) that need to be healed with the Import Diagnostics tool. It's issues like this with IGES files that make me prefer STEP models. Do others here have similar experiences with IGES vs STEP?
