I am engaged in the design of a cylinder-yoke assembly, which has minor assemblies within it.
One sub-assy is the cylinder assembly, in which I do not constrain the movement of the piston in the cylinder. The only mate I use is cocentric. I can pull on the cylinder in either direction I want and it will drag along, with anything else attached to it.
However, when I insert the cylinder subassy in the main assembly, it gets treated as a ''block'' and none of its components can be moved, regardless of with how many degrees of freedom they have been inserted.
How can I make Solidworks not override the mating constrains of sub assemblies?
