exporting a blank drawing with nothing more than a single embedded bitmap to dwg or dxf formats.
opening dwg or dxf in edrawing viewer, draftsight and autocad displays a thumbnail and temp filename in place of the correct full resolution bitmap image.
using win xp x64, dell m4400, sw 2011 or 2012 sp1, draftsight 11.3.1131, autocad lt 2011, adobe CS 5.5.
my reseller tech support could not reproduce the problem. in draftsight the same file renders the same bitmap correctly, full resolution.
i believe the incorrect rendering is the result of the choice of ole server. i think draftsight and autocad are calling photoshop to render the bitmap and for whatever reason photoshop is not doing that correctly.
wondering if anyone else observed this behavior in draftsight, autocad or other dwg viewer and found a workaround. for now i must double click on the bitmap thumbnail to open it in photoshop, export back to a standalone file on disk, then insert embedded in autocad.
reseller submitted bug to dss solidworks, they added it to spr 601061. it isn't the same problem as that spr's description "Can not export to DWG/DXF a TIF image file inserted in a drawing." but oh well.
thanks in advance.
