I have just attended a user group meeting here in CT and saw a demonstartion of equation driven assemblies for precision sheet metal components. All of the facets were controlled including addition and subtraction of mounting holes and brackets, etc. They used this procedure so that any designer on their team would end up with the same results and design intent.
Of course this practice is best used on 'part families' where a suitable number or properties have similarities and bases for those equations.
I have experience in part driven only but I will sure be extending that to top level assembly driven equations!
