in the preview tab of the file explorer - you can see a list of variables, and tehy have different icons by them. what do they mean? (note they apparently can be different in different configs...)
Hello All -
The sheet looking icon means you are looking at the mapped property from the file. (you see these when you check out the file)
The database icon means you are looking at the variable value from the database.
The last 4 (with the gear on it) are system version values related to the selected file.
If you double click on one of those properties it will brings up the files data card
I'm going to take a guess here; the icons mean that the variables are being read from the file or the database.
"sheet" = SolidWorks variable
"cylinder" = Data card variable
"gear" Enterprise varaible
I think Jason has it correct but I will just add...
If you want to link a "Enterprise Variable" to a "Solidworks Variable" then you must first make it available as a "Data card Variable".
This is why you sometimes see the ~same~ information listed under different types of variables.
