Hi, I've got a question about weldments.
After i built a weldments, i changed the profile file, but it doesn't link to the weldments. I have to open the Structural Member feature and select the same profile name again. my question is is there any easy way to update them automatically? Is it possible to use macro to do it? thanks

Welcome to the forum.
The short answer is "No". Weldments are like the hole wizard. They are a place to start
with no references to their origin.

I have to say, this additional functionality would be nice (i.e. weldment members linked somehow to the profile properties).
We occasionally use steel profiles that have not been "set up" (i.e. part number/description not defined in the profile). It's a real pain when you think you're done with the model, only to find that you have to edit each offending member again manually so that the BOM is correct.
We encounter the same issue with routing (pipe/tube). It's a real pain when a pipe part needs a description change or part number modification.
I'm sure linking would be easily accomplished, but the performance hit would be prohibitive, especially in large weldments.

Sorry but as far as I know there is no way to automate updating weldment profiles even with a macro. Since the profiles are not linked to the weldment you can change the profiles without affecting the weldment but the first time you edit a structural member after changing the profile, SW requires that you relocate the profile.
