Hey everybody, got another question. Some of you might remember me asking about how to find freelance work and what not, and hopefully some is about to surface. But something occurred to me that I forgot to ask. How do you price your work? Do you estimate a certain amount of hours and tell them a rate per hour, then however quick you get it done is up to you, meaning you get paid what you estimated regardless of how long/short it took? If so, what's a good rate for the hour?
When I painted houses, I charged depending on how hard the work was. If it was something fairly easy, even if a large room, I wouldn't charge much. But if there were holes, or they wanted texture, something I knew would be problematic (more time), I'd charge more.
But you know, SolidWorks and painting houses....really don't even know why I brought that up.
So, thanks everyone for your input.
