Is there any way to extract following information from a Solidworks file
"Total time the file was open"
As a crude method I would like to record time spent on each job
This has been a request for a long time. There are inherent issues especially when you have an assembly open. So the answer you don't want to hear is that there is no internal way to SolidWorks to track your time.
Troy is right. This is a topic that has been discussed on this forum.
For now the best you are probably going to get is if you RC on the
files in windows explorer and select properties it gives you some time
Or maybe someone came up with a macro routine that gives you this type of info.
Yes file properties in windows explorer gives Created date and Modified Date!
Any way it would be a very crude way to measure time spent as many times you have multiple files open for ref!
I have never tried this but there is a program called CadTempo which supposedly works with a variety of programs including SWorks to track time spent on projects.
