As in the title I am extremely new to Solidworks and 3D modeling in general, I need to create a rectangular shell but I need it to be smaller dimensions on either end and taper up to a set point. A standard shell isn't a problem just the tapering part. Horrible description so here are my dimensions. Overall 2"W x 4"H x 40" L but I need one end to start at 2" and taper up to 4" in the first 30" of the part, be 4"H for 3" then taper back down to 2" in the last 7". The shell is .120 wall and like I said that's no problem to do. Is it going to have to be made in pieces and then put together or can I start with a rectangle with my overall dimensions and start modeling from there? I wish I had the terminology I've seen here in the forum but that's the best I can do. Thanks so much for the patience and help.
