Hi, i have applied a clear plastic appearnce to a component, i want the glass to be as it says, Clear, but when i am working in solidworks the plastic has aload of square lines running through it, when i render i photoview 360 the glass then appears clear without the lines.
How can i achieve the clear plastic to be clear when working in the solidworks model itself.

Opened the part here and its fine. Have you tried rebooting your machine? Is it just this part or others too?
yeh i have tried rebooting several times, and its all clear plastic parts that have this problem, not just this one

Opend it , no problem shows clear glass.
My video card is : Nvidia Quad FX 3700.
Looked into SW card reommendation ,did'nt see ATI Radeon HD4800.
I don't really have an answer, but a couple more ideas if you haven't solved it. I don't think it's anything to do with your system specs, rebooting, etc.
Could it be something with a DirectX or OpenGL setting? This would be my first guess, but I'm not very knowledgeable on them.
Or have you looked at the SolidWorks options? Check out the Performance, I have both check boxes checked: "High quality..." I have "Use shaded preview" checked and "Use software OpenGL" unchecked.
Then try Document Properties. See if any of those settings might do the trick. I've seen your issue before, but I can't remember the fix.
Jeremy is correct: Options>System Options>Performance: both of the "Transparency" options need to be checked/turned on.
Can you upload the part? Or a sample part with the same problem.
Also, what are your system specs.
