I recently moved from CATIA to SolidWorks and I must say that I am not really happy the way the mouse works. Zooming with the middle mouse button is good, but rotating is just a nightmare. In CATIA I remember that if i moved my mouse to the outer edges of the model, the view would rotate about the plane and if my mouse was towards the center it would rotate like it normally does (in SolidWorks). However, in SolidWorks, I'm having a lot of trouble keeping my model straight up when rotating. I need to press ALT to rotate it about the front facing plane which is really annoying. Any way to 'fix' this or does anyone have any good tips on how to use the mouse propperly?

Also, kind of off topic, but i have an education version of SW and I need to connect to my university's VPN to be able to open SW. I did register my SW and got an email with the license file but what do I do with it?

Thanks!
