After updating a model I get the brown dimensions in the drawing and wondered if there is a way of reaching them somehow? I have been re-dimensioning everything but it doesn’t seem as a very efficient way of doing it.
pick the end of the dim closest to part, if the link is bad the point will be red. Pick the red point and drag it back to the line or point it should be attached too and it will be reattached.
This dimension has lost it's reference. Click on it to highlight it and you will have a red box at the end of the leader line. Click on this red box and try to drag it to the proper reference point or line. If that doesn't work you will need to delete this dimension and make a new one.
Thanks Troy and Glenn,
It works with some but not with all. Even with the one that it worked it wasn’t so easy. I had to drag the red point to the location more than one time for it to work - while I was dragging the red square in the preview I could see the dimension becoming black but going back to brown after releasing the mouse button. I guess I have to get the hang of it a little better.
Sometimes there is nothing you can do but delete the dimension and make a new one. Unless I also need to get the hang of it better.
Sometimes the heat from the model regeneration process causes dimensions to turn brown. Make sure the cooling fans on your workstation are working properly and not clogged with dust.
Good recommendation – kind of esoteric.
