I have Attached a part file. Trying to figure out how to extend the sides of this exhaust vent to be flush with the angled back part.
Any help would be much appreciated!
If this is close enough I will redo it on whatever version you are on.
I think that is it. lol now, how did you do that? I am running 2012 version.
Thank you so much...
Oh, if you are on 2012 then here you go. (Are you sure you are??) I only did one side, but just mirror in the sketch to catch both sides.
Now, some thoughts for you.
I generally prefer to use edge flanges rather than sketched bends as I have better control. Put edge flanges on in the same feature if the angles are the same and will remain so and you don't have to suppress one side or the other for configs.
You can build half of this part and then mirror the whole thing.
I noticed that extending the side out to the end showed that the end flange doesn't quite match the plane of the side flanges.
I modified the upper edge flange that I worked on to a relief of tear/extend in order to not have the step at the bend.
I changed the angled bend to material and bend outside in order to reduce the relief area in the corner.
You may need to tweak stuff to suit - I showed you concepts. :-)
Thank you Wayne. All good concepts for me to consider as my learning curve here develops...
I was glad that you were so quick to help me out. I have to get this cut, bent, tig welded then installed by tomarrow...
Have a good weekend,
