How do you mirror an entire assembly and delete the original? I have several large assemblies that are the same exact parts, just assembled opposite. Instead of creating new ones, I would like to mirror the ones I have.
One solution that I use in instances like that is to have two configs in the assy file - LH & RH. The LH has the original parts, the RH has the mirrored parts. Each config just has the other stuff suppressed. That way if you update something you can still keep them the same, although you have to unsuppress the main stuff to update the mirrored parts and then suppress them again.
Yes, I have done that before. Sometimes when the assemblies are large and you are dealing with lots of parts being suppressed, it creates problems with mates.
Piggy backing what Wayne said what about doing the mirror then doing a save as copy
then creating the one to be the LH and the other the RH.
