Hello All,

I have a data set of points that was generated with a FARO arm. I am trying to set up a new plane as a basis for the regeneration of the model.

In the scan there are two extreme points that I want to use as a reference to setup this plan, but my plain is not coming out the way I would like and I am not sure I understand why.

Let me explain:

1.) I have created a 3D sketch and create a straight line between the two extreme points. On this line I have create a point that is constrained to the midpoint of the line.

2.) I exit the 3D sketch and create a new plane so that the plane is co-incident with the point and perpendicular to the line.

However, when I measure the angle between the line and the plan, I do not get and angle of 90°. I get something like 89.99. In reality it probably doesn't matter for the specific part I am trying to model, but I am concerned that this small difference will cause problems when I try to trim back my surfaces later.

I am attaching some pictures to try and illustrate the problem a little clearer.

Does anyone have any ideas / thoughts?

Regards

Rob
