have two parts occuping the same space?
Not "interference detection" but 'prevention'?
So when I'm moving parts around they will bump into each other or scrap along each other's surfaces....like real objects.
Use physical simulation when you move components. Instead of moving components by dragging, use the move component tool on the Assembly panel of Command manager and turn on collision detection. This functionality isn't part of the regular inverse-kinematics because of the computational load involved. I use it when I need to position a component based on contact that that mates can't simulate. Good luck
