So I just can't leave things alone and I want to know what's hiding inside of C:\SolidWorks Data\Browser\ToolboxFiles.index but I cannot figure out what ot use to read the file. It's partially encrypted such that I cannot clearly see what it's doing. I've opened it with Notepad, WordPad, Access (failed to open), and XML Notepad 2007 (failed to open) and have gotten no good results. Has anyone cracked this file open to take a look yet and if so, what did you use?
My main reason to ask is because I don't like the way that the configurator doesn't allow any sorting other than based on what folder was added before or after another folder and the less than desirable cutting and pasting of folders into temporary locations in order to manually sort. I was hoping the index might have some sorting keys in it that would be easier to change than the methods describe above.
you can rename it then sort files out , once you do this open the toolbox configurator and select button it will lock as it has to create a new index but it will be based on what is in the folder. i had to do it today as it wouldn't let me delete files or folders...
