I have created nut and bolt with same pitch and depth. I need to assemble them, so that they can move same as they move physically when turned.
Can anyone suggest me how to do this?
Thanx in advance.
You can also select their temporary axis. Check here for more details here :
You can use believe it or not, a 'Screw Mate'. That will do what the name says.
Yeah I have come across that mate option under Mechanical Mates,
But I was unable to select the entities( nut and bolt ) which I created. I don't know the reason.
Will you please let me know how to do that?
Siva, it should just be a case of selecting the shaft on the bolt and the bore on the nut.
Can you post a screen shot at all?
Thank you philips
I got it, I had to choose axes for selecting entities, whilst I was trying to use objects for selecting entities
These are the screw and nut I made
Looks good but I would rarely model threads (until I need them) but rather use cosmetic threads with thread call outs in the drawing.
Thank you Deepak,
I understood it.
Yes Mr.Siva screw mate will help in this case
And not the kind that is a bad dominatrix!
I can use screw mate for Bolt and nut assembly. But there is an Interference . I want to mate the Bolt and Nut in assembly without any Interference and Nut can rotate in bolt with Clearance. Can you suggest the any option is there.
You need to set up your bolt and nut so that they have the correct orientation at the start, then apply the screw mate. The mate only controls their relative motion.
You might try using an angular mate on one of the parts to get them in the proper orientation. Then suppress the angle mate and apply (or unsuppress) the screw mate.
