Finding components by hovering in the feature tree

This question relates to finding components in large complex assemblies, with lots of duplicate parts/patterns. Most of the time, when you hover over the feature tree the corresponding component in the graphics area is identified with a boundary box. This is extremely handy, and saves a huge amount of time compared to clicking on each one, and trying to spot the one that goes blue (particularly if it is buried or hidden from view). However, sometimes this doesn't seem to work.

Interestingly enough, clicking on the component in the graphics area generally highlights the corresponding one in the tree... but not always. Even the RC 'find feature in tree' or zoom to selection option doesn't always work.

Anyone know why?
