I am having a problem getting this sheet metal weldment body to flat pattern. I would like to display this body as a flat pattern in a drawing. Can someone tell me what im doing wrong please?
While placing the flat pattern view you should be able to select the required configuration to show as flat.
That is true normally but I cannot get this body to go flat even in the model. Did I use the sheet metal commands incorrectly?
If you have any cutlist in the model (sorry can't open it up right now) then update that and check.
You used the SM commands correctly, but then you turned it into a Weldment.
If you suppress the Structural Member2 feature, the main panel will flatten.
Thanks for the response but the main panel is not what I want to flatten. That will flatten without suppressing anything.
If you look at my original post I have highlighted the body in the attached picture that I want to flatten. The first thing guys want when I draw parts like this is a flat pattern layout and this one is about to kill me. Maybe I should have done this part in an assembly.
Well this part has crashed my drawing file twice today while attempting to detail. It may be corrupt. I keep getting an error to contact my VAR. The first time was on a 25 page multi sheet drawing and now I cannot open it at all. I guess now I know why you shouldnt use multi sheet drawings.
Did you updated the cut list and checked??
unsupressed flatpattern1 works
Unsupressed flatpattern2 and unsupressed basebend1 works
You only get one pattern at at time
