Does any know how to copy a sketch over from AutoCad to a solidworks sketch?
Ctrl-C in the ACAD, Ctrl-V inside a SW sketch.
Wayne, I always do this daily and so far it's been awesome, works a treat. However, i've got problems doing this and also tried inserting the drawing using Scott's method to no avail, have you or anyone else have/had this problem and found a work around or even a permanant solution?
thanks in advance

Hadleigh, you might feel bad to hear but Wayne is no more with us. We lost him last December

And to further answer your questions, where are you using the information/data from ACAD i.e. in your Parts or Drawings?
Either way you can open open a DXF/DWG file directly into SolidWorks and then choose where you want to use it.
Check this post after step 5 to get some details on the steps: Covert your PDF into SolidWorks with Able2Extract Professional
Thanks for the reply Deepak. Oh that's Awful, i feel pretty bad :\ will pay my respects of course.
I'm using the info/data in Parts only.
When importing the sketch i get the normal exploding option then..
i get this strange message: 77 points were out of modelling limit (never seen this before)
Please see attached picture
Any other solutions?
Never seen the error myself though but my guess would be that the drawing has points/entities that goes out of the modeling limit of 1KM (0.5 KM on each side of origin).
Can you attach the file to check??
Yeh very strange and i believe that my be the case.
Here it is, have a go!
Edit: i drew this in the end obviously because it's very simple shape, but..i still need to remove that burden,
because of more complicated shapes coming..
Phew.. Finally Figured this.
Basically as you said Model was outside limits.
In autocad, select orgin and click near model/s. Thus reducing the range.
Copy + Paste as usual.
You can also go to insert dxf/dwg in your drawing.
