I am currently learning Solidworks at my university. We have been given a few problem sets and I am currently practicing with developing solid models from 2 and 3 view orthographic models. This is the first time I have been asked to translate a two-view 2D drawing to a solid model and I am not sure what the standards are for top/bottom/left/right with two views. For the drawing below, is my selection of top and side accurate according to industry standards? This problem was given in our engineering graphics text.
I presume you are in the US and as such I would interpret any drawing as 3rd angle projection. So the lower left one that I see marked, I agree with other than calling the one marked "Side" front. Although it could also be that the upper view is the front view & the lower view is the bottom. Just depends on what you want to call it, but the part is the same regardless.
