On top of what Troy said go to tools>options>system options
and check these settings.
I would also look into configurations to place the hardware items on.
Thanks for the responses. I have considered those possibilities, but those do not help much. Configurations are a good idea. If I could use something similar to speedpak and apply those settings to the complex parts and springs that may work. Let me know if anyone else has any suggestions.
The more detail in your assemblies the slower they will be. Lightwieght mode is the only way to speed things back up.
