Did you tried this:
Go to the Customer Portal and select My Profile, then select the link "Click Here" (as below) To request a change to your e-mail address or company information, click here After you've filled in the required information, SW support team should be able to fix the e-mail id.

I followed this exactly and got my e-mail id changed.

Since SW corp center is in MA and you mentioned the Sox, now you might have a problem turn into a huge problem

I have been trying to do this for about a year! It is not possible it seems to change your email address. I emailed SW support - they said ask you VAR. I asked my VAR and some time later they announced that it had been done - it hadn't. I tried again recently and the only solution was to create a new profile with the new address. This means of course that all my forum history, bookmarks, profile etc are lost. It's hard to believe that a Company like SW cannot perform a simple email address change.

Must be the VAR, I had an issue where I had two 3D Content Central accounts and I contacted my VAR (Design Point, PA, NJ) and it took a little time but they actually combined the two, done.
I would definitely hound your VAR, you can always buy your product from another guy, if your service is lousy,

Am I missing something? Please help, I need to change my e-mail address because I have a new job.
It should show up after you log in to the Customer Portal and select My Profile. It is underneath my email address and I click on the phrase "click here". It is not under your profile for this forum, which you acces by clicking on your name at the top of the page.
Did you try going to your home pafe on the portal and selecting "My Profile"
