2 licence leases are stuck!

Hi all,

I have Solidworks 2011 2d, standard and professional (i think) installed, and up to 10 users can use each application with the licencing lease.

I have one user that has a stuck lease though and they can't use Solidworks at all until it is cleared.

I tried a command scrip to get it unstuck, but it is not working, saying there si no such file.

The username is rohan.pellizzer and the PC name is ses-sd2. can someone please help me, how can i end the lease he has on solidworks standard and solidworks professional??

Welcome to the forum.
In all honesty you are best to talk to your VAR about this.
They are the best ones to handle your individual licenses.

  The PC that has the licences leased out is no longer on the network, and the timeout is set for the 20th of October.
  
  I don't think a re-seller can do much about that.

    Then I would go to the server and go to the license administrator.
    I will try and find you some info on this.

    Does the FlexLM User Guide give any insight on how to revoke a borrowed license? There is a pdf somewhere in the install. Might look for it on the license server.
    
    Can you re-attach the computer to the network temporarily to return the borrowed license?
    
    I would still call your VAR to see if they can offer some insight on how to solve your problem.

Thanks Scott, i will try that when i can. I wish there was a simple 'revoke licence' button after selecting the user

Hi Nick,
There is a hotfix utility available to solve such issue (refer to KB article S-032222).
But for that you need to contact your reseller, since it needs an authorisation code which is provided by your reseller.
But keep in mind, before using that utility, return the borrowed license from all the machines. The machine which is unable to return the license, will be operated by using hotfix utility. At last this utility will be used on your server machine.
I hope this will short out the problem.

Nick,

I have a batch file that I wrote to recover licenses from users who shouldn't be using them. Perhaps it will help you. You'll need to edit the file and replace the user name and computer name with those of the stuck licenses. You can find this information in the network license manager.
