When I use the Isolate command the save icon is not present in the dialog box. Why Not?
Are you in a multibody part environment? There is no such icon there yet.
Please vote on ER# SPR 407806: Save as display state option needs to be added to part isolate command - b2
If the icon is not available in the assembly environment, that needs troubleshooting.
Because the isolate is meant as a temporary visual tool.
Can not save while that mode is active.
If you want your assembly to look like that all the time, make a Configuration of it and hide the files you don't want to view. That is a permanent way to isolate a part.
Hi W. Scott,
Are you talking about the "Save as Display State" icon?
Yes, that is the one...
Hi Scott, I think you are referring to the save option in the Isolate command display. But I checked in both the SW 2010 & 2011, its working perfect and can save Display configurations. So if you are referring to this & it is not working in your SW, then I think there may be some bug in your SW installation. Pls. confirm.
Scott there can be some issue with the dll files or the toolbar settings. Do you have another machine where isolate works fine?
Also what are your system and SolidWorks specs? How long it has started to behave like this?
Thanks. I am new to SW and was trying to use something learned at the SWUGN conference. I appreciate everyone's input...
