Hope someone knows the answer to this, i have assigned the material to be frosted plastic, some transparency and it is a green color, it appears fine in solidworks, it is an assembly file of two parts, i bring into photoview, and in the preview window, the model appears to be glossy white plastic. I have tried detaching material, change it to diff colors, diff materials, resave files, restarted programs, restarted computer, nothing seem to fix it....... Please help!
Try changing the environment. Materials will look different depending on the lighting and environment.
Hi anna, yeah i have tried that too, but didnt work. I even open the part files associated with assembly, same white color, i even drastically change tge material to black matte rubber, same result. I dobt understand why it is acting that way.....
Is this in PV360 2010 or 2011?
If it's 2011 try applying the appearance at the component level in the assembly and see if looks correct in PV360
actually it is photoview 2010, (solidworks 2010 service pack 0.0) but i will try that tomorrow. it was okay the very first time i put it in photoview to render, then today when i went to work to check it out , made some tweaks, that's when it was glitchy .... i can't wait til the IT dept updates the software to 2011....
In 2010 make sure your filters weren't set to part or assembly or something that would overwrite the whole appearance rather than just the area was attached to.
