it seems that version 2011 has removed the ability to move something back out of a folder. I was trying to move an item underneath another item, which happened to be a folder, and instead of being placed underneath, it went into the folder and it won't allow me to take it back out. any suggestions?
unfortunately i do not get the icon that shows it can be moved. i get the circle with the cross saying NO! i think this is a bug. lots of bugs in 2011 so far. we just installed in a month ago and i have problems all the time now. very frustrating.
go a little to the left of the folder icon, then you should get the correct arrow icon
apparently this is a known issue. it is a smart component folder and if you accidentally drop something into that folder it will not come back out.
Part of the problem is the parent child relationships. So if you are trying to drag it out
and it is being dragged after it's parent then it is not going to work.
Not sure if this is an option, but you can always delete it and then reinsert it.
