Dear Forum:

I set up a totally new drawing file with only SW default standards present. I set the default in the drawing file to ANSI (default ANSI). I then created a new dim syle which I called dim test-1.sldstl. This new style is programmed to have the slash terminator. I then saved the new style to be loaded into the drawing as needed.  When I load the new style (dim test-1.sldstl) it is incapable of producing the slash symbol for the new style every time it is applied.  At this point I have two choices—I can create a new Custom Drafting Standard (ANSI-modified) where I set the terminatator default to a slash under dimensioning, or I can set the dimstyle (dim test-1.sldstl) to a slash.  But this does not solve my production problem when creating drawings.  If I choose to use (ANSI-modified) the new slash terminator symbol is now present in Annotation features  that require arrow heads, ei. section details require arrow heads.  If I change the new dim style to the slash I have make this change every time time I load the the new dim style.

Changing the terminator stlyle of the dimensions is not a problem if you are only producing one drawing, but imagine producing 20 page ducuments with hundreds of applied dimensions.

I would like to think that as simple as the problem I have seems to be that the drawing files are not as innately inflexible toward custimization as they currently seem to be.

Perplexed,
