Am trying to add metadata to a IFC file. Actually my program opens the *.SLDASM file and save it as IFC file. and that will be imported in AUTOCAD REVIT MEP software. While importing the IFC file into REVIT i need to show the metatdata too in revit . Am a software developer and have very minimal knowledge abt these metadata and Autocad conversions and all. So i have no idea on how the metadata can be added to IFC files or it should be added to SLDASM file itself before saving the file as IFC?

or else it should be added after importing the IFC into REVIT software? How it can be done. How metadata looks like. is it a kind of tooltip message? How it can be added to my IFC files to import them in revit whitout loosing any data. Actaully i should add some external data of a model as a metadata to the IFC files and import it in AUTOCAD REVIT MEP software. if possible a detail steps to add metadata manually to IFC files is greatly appreciated.
