Patterns and Design tables

How can I supress/skip instances of a pattern by using a design table?

It seems ridiculous but even a pattern driven table doesn't seem to allow one to skip instances.

I have several configurations of electrical components with pins(2 pin version, 3 pin version, etc...) and some instances need to be skipped. A Table pattern requires one to use the same number or else it complains there is a mismatch between the number in the table and the number in the pattern. A linear pattern doesn't seem to let one skip the instance per configuration.

Surely solidworks can't be so innane as to skip over such a feature(no pun intended)?
