    ePDM and Oracle

    Jeremy Ferguson

      Just starting to implement ePDM at work and would like to know if there is a way that you can populate a list control within a data card, with values returned from a SQL query on a table in a ORACLE database?

          I don't see why not...

          Could be an access database for all it cares

              Access maybe, but not MySQL or Pervasive SQL. It doesn't read from the ODBC INI entries in the registry, 64 or 32 bit, so one MUST be able to specify a driver that's not already included in the .NET framework EPDM is written with in order to talk to a non-MS database...

              The help file for how to query an Excel file gives some hints tho... but I can't figure out what to type to have it understand the connect string in the SQL:

              SELECT Date

              FROM OpenDataSource( 'Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0',

                 'Data Source="c:\Book1.xls";

                   User ID=Admin;Password=;Extended properties=Excel 8.0')...Sheet1$
