I am using SW2011 with SP3.
Is it possible to capture the BOM quantity for a specific item and use that in an assembly equation?
Adding a column to the BOM and inserting an equation is not an option because the equation needs to be different depending on the line item in the table. Also, grabbing this through the API is not something I want to explore at this time.

I ended up brute forcing the solution by dumping a BOM table into the assembly temporarily, saving out to Excel, running my formulas in the spreadsheet, then total the results from all the spreadsheets. Not very elegant, but I got the numbers I needed.
I would still like to know of a way to tap into the quantity value shown for each line item in a BOM table though.
