I have drawings w/ views that represent assemblies that are being configured using a combination of a 3rd party software package and some custom programs I've written. The assemblies are basically manipulated by setting suppression states for the various components and also setting dimensions in a skeleton sketch, thereby setting up the whole assembly.
The drawing views are created using the assembly w/ everything unsuppressed and dimensions set relatively arbitrarily. When the assembly is configured differently from that which the drawing view was originally created... the views move. I have the drawing view positions locked... and they still move.
Is there a way around this? I recall this being an issue w/ Solidwork since the beginning... but I never really had to deal w/ it to this extent as the point of my whole process is to be completely hands off from Solidworks... i.e. I won' t have an opportunity to "fix" the drawings before they're published.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks,
Eric
