I've been moving along doing what I call Inset Flanges (see picture) and wondered if there were faster better ways to make this.
Are you talking about the stiffeners that you would put in as library features? Or the offset flanges on the sides?
Offset flanges my friend.
Just thinking through it, I would probably do the base, then the edges. Then put in an Unfold, cut out the places for those flanges, put in a Fold. Then extrude up from the exposed edge, then put a jog in. Combine as many locations into a feature that you can.
Or, do the single one, then do one on the other side, then mirror it.
Or, is that what you are already doing?
I did the jog method, which in turn, doesn't mirror or un-fold. This is not the best way.
I started with the cut first, added flange material and then jogged, mirroring were I could.
I guess I'm looking for faster ways which might lead to an actual sheetmetal feature for flanges like this. ER
How about posting one of your parts and I will take a quick look.
