The short question:

I've placed dimensions on an imported solid; now how do I get SW to allow me to convert it to a drawing?

More detail:

I am running SW2007 and the 3D model shows up as "Imported." I have used Smart Dimension to place dimensions on the solid. I could print front, top and right views as they are, but I would prefer to get them into a "real" 2D drawing sheet, but when I use the "Make Drawing from Part/Assembly" button, the "View Palette" area is empty - I suppose what's happening is that there are no sketch entities for it to work with. Can I fix this?
