Hi all, I'm learning to use solidworks and now I have a boat hull (surface loft, boundary and plane). I want to convert it to sheetmetal and use the flats.
Can anybody give me any advice?
Good morning Julio,
Your part would be considered a stamping, see the following:
you would have to do it in smaller sections, just as they would make a real hull of a ship.
It's call plank on frame construction. That is how a friend made the plugs for Magic Craft boats did it.
sometimes you have to model the way they are built to make it work for you.
hum.. do you have or know where I can get some info for a beginer? I'm not looking for the calcs, like the water line, beam, displacement, center of bouancy, just learn how to model a speedboat hull and have the flats.
