Hi,
Let me elaborate by saying "I can attach string parameters, real parameters and integer parameters on CATIA V5 and Pro/E models using their user interface easily and want to do the same with SolidWorks." In particular, let me describe the user scenario for Pro/E in detail (I could do the same for CATIA V5):
1. UI Main - Tools - Parameters, then one selects scope, From:
Assembly
Skeleton
Part
Component
Feature
Inherited
Annotation Element
Quilt
Surface
Edge
Curve
Composite curve
Material
2. After scope is selected, the user selects within the window using mouse on model entities of the scope type or from the model tree.
3. Once the model entity is selected the user can +/- new parameters and change their name to what one wishes, pick the parameter type from Integer, Real Number, String and Yes/No type and then specify the parameter value accordingly.
In SolidWorks, I have only been able to replicate this type of funcitonality for parts.

Bruce
