Some of my existing parts in assemblies are showing the wrong quantity in the BOM.
The quantity column is taking my part's part number prefix (209-002043 for example) and using that prefix as a multiplier for the quantity. My assembly uses 3) 209-002043 but the BOM quantity column says 627!
I have checked everything I know forwards and backwards and can't fix this! I've been going around and around with this for hours and I am frustrated beyond belief!!!

Try opening up that specific component. Then do a file>properties and there is a
combo box "BOM Quantity" which should be set to "-none-".
See if this clears this up.
Son of A... I think I might have fixed it. The BOM under the Configuration Specific tab was blank... I set it to -none- and it was working correctly!
Yep! That's it! I never bothered to look under that tab since I don't have a configuration set up.

Interesting. If you re-order the BOM so the washer is item #2, do you get a qty. of 418?

Alin: No, there are 3 used in this assembly, just a coincidence it's also item 3.

Dang this Post just saved me. My boss hates Solidworks and this kept me from frustrating him. He is an old autocad Junky.
