Any one know if it is possible to download these images as the 360 degree images to be used in photoview?
There are some awesome ones on there.
You'd need to somehow get ahold of the original HDRI, and I don't think Google is too free with those.
Good morning Greg,
If you right click on the picture you can save it, however I think you need photo works to utilize it in Solidworks.
We do Feedmill & Grain Storage facilities and I have done a few site layouts using the screen shot of a property, (Google Earth) and I add the picture on a flat extrude for my base. This is not 100%, however the Sales Department likes it for a fair visual.
I really wanted a way of saving the environment image, so it can be used like the preset scenes eg courtyard.
You should be able to do that. I only utilize it as a flat and not as a scene. Do you have Photo Works add on? If you do then right click on the image and copy and paste in to your scene file.
Though it is true that you will need an HDRI image to get the full dynamic range of lighting from the scene. The image that you are looking at is a spherical image (though very low resolution) and can be used as the background. You will get some lighting if you use this image as the environment in the scene but again not very realistic lighting. See attached model for how the image was added to the scene. As with any rendering it is highly recommended that you use a camera to view the image.
The picture doesnt seem to be showing here, could you repost it?
Thanks too for replying.
I reposted as an attachment to my original reply. Also be sure to look at the part file that I attached as well. That will show how to include the image in the scene.
